Tasks

1. Get in groups and pick a pig to research.

2. Go to your pig's page and read your instructions.

3.Which house is best for the three pigs? Do a picture display of housing types in Kansas History.

4. Write research paper about houses. Research housing types and their strengths and weaknesses.

5. Get back together with your group and discuss what housing structure was the strongest from your era. "Joe" will talk about the weaknesses of each of the houses from each of the eras.

6. Using the housing structures just mentioned, re-write the story of the three little pigs. Be sure to start with the weakest house and end with the strongest house.

Process

1. Each pig needs to research their type of housing from their era and the wolf needs to research the weaknesses of the housing structures. Click here to print off your chart that should be filled out with the information you find.

2. Decide which house would be the best and write a research paper using the facts and the information from the sites on this website.

3. Then using the information you have gathered write the three little pigs story using three types of houses one from each time era.
